- 3～4年前に親知らず抜いたのですがその隣の左下の奥歯が大きい虫歯になっていると言われて、歯茎を切ってする治療と言われ、その歯医者の医者があまりしたくないと言われ不信感を抱き治療してほしくないという気持ちになっています。
そちらの歯科では、治療可能でしょうか？

ご相談の件ですが…親知らずと隣接した歯が、その部位の特異的な清掃不良により虫歯(う蝕)に罹患するというのはよくあることです。
う蝕には4段階(C1〜C4)有りますが…もしその虫歯が歯の根に及んでおらず、歯の頭の表層の鎧にあたる部分(エナメル質)か、ややその内部(象牙質)までしか達していない場合C1〜C2)は、ごく軽度ならすぐには治療を行わず経過観察か、行う場合もいわゆる「詰め物」が適応できる可能性が高くなります。ですが、C2でも痛みその他の症状が持続する、ないし増強を続ける場合…神経を取る治療が必要になることもあります。
さらに深部…歯の中の神経＝歯髄まで達したう蝕(C3)では、神経を取る治療が必要になります。感染が重篤な場合や症状により、抜歯が適応になることもあります。
残根状態…歯の根まで侵された虫歯は、残念ながら抜歯以外の選択肢が無くなってしまいます。
